Our Story Began With a Sunrise

The founder of Daybreak, Jada Alexander, began her journey with the ocean at a time when she needed it most. As a young girl navigating personal challenges and facing racial hardships, she found herself drawn to the natural world as a source of peace and clarity. Nature became her outlet—a space where she could explore, play, and heal. Through these experiences, she regained her passion for life and a deeper sense of purpose, leading her to a path of self-discovery and renewal.

One pivotal morning, she drove two hours to Solana Beach to watch the sunrise from the surf lineup. On that day, it became clear to her that being on the water was about more than surfing—it was about the healing relationship between herself and nature. The waves, the sunrise, and the shared awe among surfers brought a feeling of connection and safety that became the foundation for her lifelong dedication to environmental stewardship.

From that moment on, Jada committed herself to helping others discover this same connection. She founded Daybreak to create a space where people can not only learn to surf but also reconnect with themselves, each other, and the earth, just as she did. Through the joy of surfing and a deep reverence for the ocean, Daybreak offers a path to healing, growth, and environmental responsibility.
